The inspiration for the Jinbianruixiang Highrise is deeply rooted in Nanchang's local flora, specifically the city flower, Jinbianruixiang. Zhubo Design has masterfully translated the delicate beauty of petals into the architectural form, creating a podium that encircles the main tower, reminiscent of a blooming Daphne. The design pays homage to the iconic Tengwang Pavilion, capturing the poetic elegance of the region's stamens and infusing it into the tower's silhouette.
Distinctive in its approach, the Jinbianruixiang Highrise is designed to be a cultural business card for Nanchang, seamlessly integrating the urban fabric with the natural landscape. The building stands as a riverside stage, where the narratives of modernity and history are interwoven, ensuring that the city's heroic spirit is eternally mirrored in the waters of the Ganjiang River.
The realization of this architectural marvel was not without its challenges. The tower's unique, blooming shape required meticulous geometric analysis and innovative use of cold-bent glass. The solution was found in unitized curtain walls, which allowed for the creation of a beautiful form while maintaining the integrity of the vertical lines and incorporating flood lighting to accentuate the building's stature.
Technical specifications of the Jinbianruixiang Highrise are a testament to its grandeur. Occupying a land area of 16,169.96 square meters, the tower soars to a height of 248.9 meters, with 46 floors dedicated to creating a super high-rise office space that is both functional and aesthetically pleasing. The project's volume rate of 6.03 underscores its significant presence in the cityscape.
The design team, led by Xia Chong and Li Wei, with project execution managers Li Yingwei and He Weijiang, and a talented group of designers, have ensured that the Jinbianruixiang Highrise is not only a visual spectacle but also a dynamic environment. The tower's design strategies promote a flexible and efficient workspace, while the expansive central garden and riverside green belt offer a serene escape, fostering a healthy and enjoyable riverside life experience.
Commencing in 2022 and reaching completion in 2025, the Jinbianruixiang Highrise project stands as a cultural landmark in Nanchang. The design team's research and creative efforts have overcome significant challenges, integrating local culture into a building that is not only a new urban landmark but also a poetic and highly identifiable place within the city's waterfront interface.
Recognized for its excellence, the Jinbianruixiang Highrise was awarded the Silver A' Design Award in 2024, a testament to Zhubo Design's commitment to innovation and their ability to create designs that resonate with both the local community and the international audience. This architectural masterpiece continues to inspire and captivate, solidifying its status as a new beacon of culture and design.
